Blueprint Producer Scheme
I am trained as a producer through Blueprint, a professional development programme for emerging producers, run by Tobacco Factory Theatres (TFT) in Bristol.

As part of the programme, I attended and critiqued shows as a representative of TFT during the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, offering feedback on their programming. I also co-produced a range of events for TFT.

InterAct double bill- Serendipity,
Wickham Theatre, 2022

As part of the InterAct (University of Bristol theatre departmental society) committee, I co-produced this theatre showcase. I chose the theme of Serendipity for the event as it was broad enough to provide applicants with a wide range of plays to choose from. Moreover, from an artistic point of view, because the event was curated after the pandemic where life was just beginning to return to normality, the theme was aimed to encapsulate the essence of discovering the joy of small events in our daily life even during difficult times. The final chosen pieces were an adaptation of Joan Lindsay’s Picnic at Hanging Rock and Blue Heart by Caryl Churchill. The serious tone of the former was balanced out with the more playful tone of the latter performance, allowing the audience to have a more holistic viewing experience of different genres and styles, yet leaving the night with a more light-hearted mood.
REACT is an audience engagement and community outreach initiative specifically curated for young people from the Bristolian Black community, in conjunction with their show Revealed. Revealed was about three generations of a family having conflicting political, social, and economic viewpoints against the backdrop of the Black Lives Matter movement. My concept for the event was rooted in the tagline ‘can we listen if we are not heard?’, thereby emphasising on the importance of listening in inter-generational communication. This was further coupled with the aim of reflection that this is the result of varied life experiences within each generation and the urgent need to forge a healthy communication bridge across the generations. This was later transformed into the provocation of the night: Inheriting the Earth: Are we living in a different world to our elders? to sparks conversations of the night.
Chinese Queer Film Event: Image Fight Back of Identity, Gender and Discrimination in Pandemic, 2021

I co-produced this event as part of the committee of the Chinese Theatre & Film Society. I oversaw securing funding for the event and participated in the selection of films. This event aimed to explore the circumstances of the Chinese communities and other minorities living in the UK especially regarding the discriminations faced by Chinese people in western countries due to Covid-19.
